Bringing the outdoors in! Creating Art with Nature (Grades: 3-5)

Does your child love art and the outdoors? In this class, students will take daily outdoor adventure walks to collect natural materials that will inspire or be used in original artworks! The children will rotate between morning and afternoon workshops that are 2D and 3D in nature. Think: fairy houses, nature prints, painting outdoors - all while having fun with peers!

Cooking with STEM (Grades: 2-3)

Have you wondered why bread and cakes grow bigger in the oven? Can you cook using the sun as the heat source? Sign up for this creative intercession and you will get opportunities to make your own butter, bake your own bread, create ice cream, and learn the science behind food.

Knit Your Bit GCPS (Grades: K-5)

Beginners welcome!
Have you ever wanted to make your own hat? Students in kindergarten -5th grades are invited to join the GCPS Knitting Brigade and learn how to loom knit their own hat! Please join us for a week of fun learning about different types of yarn, the animals that provide yarn, and use yarn to knit your own hat!

Learning with Lego Robotics (Grades: 3-5)
with Zoe Parrish

This session is for current 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders interested in learning more about robotics and computer programming. Students will build Lego robots, and program them to complete obstacles. We will explore the basics of computer programming through unplugged and hands-on challenges. Participants in this session will also tinker with other popular robots used in our schools. Students will build habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork throughout our week together.

Let’s Grow a Farm Stand (Grades: 2-5)

Do you have a green thumb and have always dreamed of opening a farm stand? Let’s plant, grow and learn the business basics of owning and running a farm stand. You’ll leave with plants to continue growing your garden, build and name your farm stand, and visit a greenhouse! Come grow with us!

Ocean Explorers (Grades: 1-3)

Terrific Task Masters! (Grades: 3-5)

Students will learn how to collaborate more effectively using the agile framework of SCRUM integrated with technology. Through this process, students will develop better communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. They will work together to solve real-world problems in our community. We will have special community members to help us with our problem-solving!
